As a pet owner and poor satisfaction with another vet, I discovered Clerkins in town and felt happy because I had another option of vet to take my pet to. I wish I could leave some good reviews as I unfortunately had unpleasant experience with Clerkin, too. Vet Ms Lydia saw my pet and all went well indeed. I left there with a satisfied state of mind. Another appointment booked for the ultrasound. I rang the vet to seek for an advice from Ms Lydia. She was on leave I was told. I requested to talk to any vet there as my pet's situation didn't show any improvement it was serious. I was promised to be called back but it didn't happen. I called another day and same response from the person on the phone with same outcome. Obviously I was ignored. Totally frustrated and lost my trust towards Clerkins. Do you call pets as client or patient? If your answer is "patient" then you must be aware my calls/requests were pet's health related and they should have been taken seriously. UPDATE - JAN 2, 2026 I visited Clerkin Cootehill clinic to request medical history for a pet I took there before. I was promised by reception to send it to another clinic that I am taking my pet. Upon found out the medical history wasn't sent, I called clinic and requested it again. Lady on the phone sounded rude enough. This time my request was refused. Absolutely terrible customer services by Cootehill Clerkin. No consistency of service quality at all. I will never ever take my pets there.

As a multiple pet owner and a person who helps run an animal rescue the service, treatment, advice, flexibility and approach to care given to animals is excellent. James, Lydia and the team are professional, empathetic and go the extra mile.

I wish I could give you 10 stars. You saved my little hamster's life. The surgery went really well and 7 days after. My little friend was fully recovered. There are no words to express how grateful I am with you guys.

Double 5 stars! Out of hours service extremely good, Emergency surgery for my dog done as quick as possible, perfectly well and dog is recovering quickly. Can't be happier and recomended enough❤️

Wonderful vets and staff. Accessible quickly if needed. Informative on health issue of your pet and prognosis. Compassion is an non negotiable when working with the pets of people and view them as family members . Have dealt with them for 10 years and couldn't recommend enough. A recent traumatic issue was dealt with professionalism and compassion and you can't really underestimate how important that is. Many thanks to Lydia and Frank.
