One of my kittens was brought to Highfield Vets Edenderry after she became unwell. The vet wrongly diagnosed her with a terminal illness called Spinal muscular atrophy. She advised that the kitten should euthenased and she put her to sleep. The diagnosis was completely wrong as the kittens parents are health tested and clear. The kitten could not possibly have had SMA. I called to speak to the vet but she refused to speak to me, the receptionist was happy to say in was due to GDPR, a pathetic excuse as GDPR is to do with the collect of data ... The vet could have spoken to me if she wanted to she chose not to. I found Highfield vets to be very unprofessional. From the fake over friendly receptionist who quickly became rude and defensive. To the vet who showed zero empathy or accountability. There are two other 1 star reviews from people who have had similar experiences to mine. This practice does appear to be capable of basic routine vetinary care. But after my experience I would recommend bringing your pet to another practice.....

I cannot recommend Donal & his team enough. My dog was doing very poorly & seen to straight away without any hesitation. He received a proper check over & shots followed by his required prescriptions. Friendly & helpful staff especially when us folk are overwhelmed with our sick animals, this always is very appreciated. Thank you @ Highfield veterinary Ver

We have relied on this practice either through emergencies or general care and their veterinarians are they most caring, skilled and compassionate around. I know Donal from years ago when he would visit the farm I worked on as a farmhand and his care was always second to none.. He now takes care of our dogs. His compassion and skill have consistently impressed us. Donal has a remarkable ability to communicate clearly and calmly, even when delivering difficult news. He always presents the facts with empathy and understanding. Our dogs trust him deeply, and we are confident that he has saved their lives on multiple occasions. His dedication and expertise make him an invaluable resource, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of excellent veterinary care.

We have been bringing our dogs to this vet for years, and I can’t say enough about Donal's exceptional care. Two of our dogs owe their lives to his skill, experience, and compassion. About a year ago, we brought our Rottweiler to him after she had undergone an emergency surgery at another vet, where we were given little hope. From the moment Donal looked at her, he accurately diagnosed the problem and provided the treatment she needed. It’s clear to us that she is alive today because of his expertise and dedication. We are incredibly grateful for his outstanding care and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking top-notch veterinary services.

I have always brought our dogs to Highfield Veterinary Edenderry and the service we receive is fantastic. The staff are amazing and so caring.
