Grey Abbey Veterinary Hospital is part of the Village Vets group (the clinic’s website is hosted under villagevets.ie). Based on recent reviews, the practice is frequently used for urgent and end-of-life care, and some owners mention communication touches such as sending a video update while a cat was recovering and not eating. Multiple reviews describe follow-up contact after difficult cases, including after an out-of-hours emergency visit. There is also conflicting feedback about how the clinic handles found/stray animals and about standards of monitoring for overnight patients.
4.5 stars from 388 reviews. The latest reviews available include both strong praise for emergency and end-of-life support and some serious complaints about handling specific situations. “”

Not really a fan of franchised vets as it’s usually just like a cattle market. But not in the case of Kildare and clonsilla. They were so gentle and caring and even sent me a video of my cat when he was awake as he wasn’t eating and I got a video of him rushing his food. Was so nice of them as they knew I was worried. It’s all about the animal to them and not the bill! Such a great experience all round.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, unfortunately we had to use the "out of hours emergency service" for one of our dogs, the staff looked after him extremely well right up to the end, and followed up with us afterwards. So we moved our other pets from our own vet to village vets, highly recommend the team here.

I’d like to report that I brought my dog Alfie up to grey abbey vets and the staff, Alexandra at reception, and the Vet Catilina, rushed to take care of my dog who had a serious problem, and I could not of wished or hoped to have such lovely people take care of my baby. Could not recommend them enough they were my angles in my hour of need. Thank you so much grey abbey staff, and merry Christmas!!!

Thank you so much for giving us the time to say goodbye to our little one. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make, letting go of my little paw friend 😢🕊

Thanks for taking such great care of my little cat Ossie (Ozzy). She is absolutely thriving. She couldn't have done it without ye and thank you all for saving her life. To be honest, I've never seen a practice that cared so deeply for an animal. To see the love and respect she was shown was truly heartwarming.

Negative experience. My dog was kept overnight for observation, fluids and oral antibiotics. When we collected our dog and brought him home, we noticed his lips had severe cuts on them. We rang the vets and they didn't know what had happened him and suggested he may have been in distress trying to get out of his cage. If he was monitored properly someone should have seen what had happened him. We complained over email, they still have not told us what has happened to our dog, no compensation and poor response time. His lips were bleeding for a week after and will possibly be left with scars. I would not leave your pet here.

Kind and compassionate vet and staff. Lovely people to deal with at such a difficult time. My beloved retriever had to be put to sleep and the staff were so incredibly kind and understanding with us. Thank you so much for your compassion it meant a lot
