Farney Veterinary Services is a small-animal veterinary practice (no corporate/vet-group ownership is stated in the information provided). Reviews repeatedly point to a hands-on, personal style of care, with particular detail around support for older pets and end-of-life decisions: one owner describes being given “space and time” when saying goodbye to a 15-year-old dog and feeling the team “didn’t just give up on him” beforehand. Several owners also mention the practice looking after multiple dogs and helping with stray cats, and one notes the clinic has been “recently…revamped.” Reception is frequently mentioned as welcoming and helpful, including a “resident cat” that greets visitors.

I used a different Vet and then when my daughter got her first dog she started to use Farney vets I visited with my daughter a few times and comparing it with my usual vets I just had to move. From the moment you walk in the door the reception staff (and the resident cat) make you and your furry friends feel very welcome. Unfortunately we lost our 15 year old doggie recently but they gave him a fighting chance and didn’t just give up on him When the time came to say goodbye they gave us space and time and made it a more bearable experience. Wonderful service every time and with reasonable prices too 💕

I can't thank Simon enough for all his help with my little dog, not to mention the numerous stray cat's he's looked after for me. He has such a lovely, caring way with animals that I haven't experienced with another vet before. Even as worried or anxious as I get when they're sick, Simon always puts me at ease and I know he will go above and beyond to make them better. He's a gentleman, with the perfect balance of professionalism and empathy to make him one of a kind. The lovely girls at reception complete the team. They are so friendly and helpful. Always at the end of the phone whenever I need and so accommodating & caring. The place has also recently been revamped and now looks more like a 5 star animal hotel than a Vets. For anyone who is looking for a veterinary service I highly recommend Farney Vets, you won't be disappointed. Shirley

For the most people their pets are real family members. And if something happens to them we are trying to find the best vet whom we would be able to entrust our beloved ones. Thankfully I found Simon at McCourt&Murray Vets in Carrickmacross. The help and support Oscar and I got that evening was unforgettable and wouldn't be enough all ''thank you'' in the world. Professional and at the same time so caring that looked like Oscar belongs to him not me. Would I recommend Simon? Honestly can say YES! Yes for knowledge, for professionalism, for care and for being so reasonable that left me absolutely puzzled. Thank God we have him here.
