Based on reviews, it’s set up for both routine clinical care and urgent advice outside typical hours: multiple owners describe a vet answering late-night calls (including around 9:45pm and close to midnight) and giving guidance that helped them avoid an emergency visit. Reviews also describe in-clinic medical and dental-type care for a very unwell cat (sedation, cleaning teeth and gums, and several days of treatment), as well as euthanasia carried out in a private room with time given to say goodbye.

Very helpful, answered the phone on a Saturday evening when I was unsure what to do with my cat and needed advice. Very kind Vet helped calm my anxiety and gave me advice even though it's not my regular vet and meaning I avoided an emergency visit.

Due to a lack of 24 hr vets in Kilkenny, google presented Walsh Fitzgerald as the nearest to me. The very kind vet who took the call at 9:45pm gave me some great advice and helped me avoid an emergency with my dog. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately I had to bring my very sick cat Vera who is the daughter of Ben my beautiful black and white cat I had to put asleep in May.... she got calivirus which I never heard of.... she presented with mouth ulcers and mouth bleed and Pat quickly sedated her and cleaned the teeth and gums and treated the virus with a range of antibiotics for a few days....Vera didn't like being handled by anyone so they had their work cut out treating Vera for 5 days but they did and she was back eating....but, Unfortunately poor Vera wasn't getting better the virus took a hold on her and she was fading away fast....I made the decision with the help of Pat knowing poor Vera was not going to get better even with more antibiotics to euthanize her....I cried like the rain and she was so ill she didn't mind anyone holding her.... I prayed so hard to help her and let her passing be quick so she could be once again with her beloved Dad Benny as he adored her....Pat barely had the injection empty and she was gone while being stroked and loved....I thank God every day for Fitzgeralds Vets as they really really do all they can to help your pet in every way whether to go the extra mile and give your pet better quality of life in their time of sickness or when the time comes to say the final goodbye in a private room and spend quality time with Vera in her final moments is something I really appreciate and meant so much to me as they have done each and every time I had to let a pet go to the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge... 😭😭😥😢💔🙏

They are the nicest staff you could ever meet and absolutely brilliant vets

They are very good with our dog. You can feel that they love animals and go the extra mile to be sure their patients are well cared for. They also take the time to explain why the pet needs a treatment (or not) and answer our (always numerous 😀) questions. We have been very happy with their very professional and friendly attention to our 4 legged family member.
