I called about an injured neighborhood cat I've been looking after. Instead of focusing on the animal's welfare or getting him an appointment, I was met with a patronizing interrogation from the receptionist. She was more fixated on why the cat has a name and pushing "free consultations" I didn't mention or ask for, rather than just helping a responsibile, paying customer get an animal seen. Extremely off putting and unprofessional attitude to deal with on top of the stress of having an injured animal. They did get me an appointment in the end, but I ended up taking him to a proper vet elsewhere because of the attitude.

Extremely kind staff and veterinarians in MyVet Maynooth! You can tell that everyone working here loves animals. They have always been very helpful, squeezing us in for appointments, taking our calls, and helped us check the tag of a lost dog that we found. I couldn't say enough good things about them. Thanks for looking after our cats Claude and Sylvester.

The most friendly and helpful staff. John, our vet was very thorough with our three dogs and they were the least stressed we’ve seen them in the vets!

Deeply Disappointed- I had a very upsetting experience at My Vet Maynooth this week. I brought my dog in for what was supposed to be a simple booster vaccination. I mentioned upfront that she had a recent bout of diarrhoea but had recovered. This was due to a bone she had eaten, which I disclosed, before the exam took place. Despite this, the vet carried out a consultation and tests — all without clearly explaining that this would come with an €85 consultation fee. At no point was I asked if I wanted or agreed to the consultation. If I’d know. The vaccines would not go ahead after diarrhoea 2 days prior, I would not have booked the appointment. I also had my 3 kids at the appointment, so was managing them and it felt like they took advantage of that. The test results came back completely normal, exactly as I’d said — our dog was well. But when I pushed back on the charge, the manager flat-out refused to show any flexibility or understanding, and said I will have to pay for another consultation to have her vaccinated. It felt like a deliberate upsell, suggesting I need to put my dog on a different food. I feel manipulated, dismissed, and incredibly upset — not because of the costs, but because of how I was treated and ignored when I raised the fact that my dog was well. I won’t be going back, and I wouldn’t recommend this clinic to anyone who values trust, fairness, or ethical treatment. Hugely disappointing.

Took my two dogs in for their annual injections and check-ups. The team was friendly, professional, and made both dogs feel at ease. Everything was explained clearly, and the visit was smooth and stress-free. Really appreciate the care and attention given—thank you!

Staff here are saints, couldn’t have better people for dealing with cats or dogs. My own cat is very nervous and anxious and he straight away warmed up to them and was looked after better than I could’ve ever imagined. It’s very rare he’s a people person to those he doesn’t know!!!! My father’s old cat who was very ill was treated like royalty which made all the difference. The vets and nurses there are some of the best people you could ever want taking care of your pets and four legged friends. I have to really thank the staff as I found a stray that was injured and they took care of it as much as they could and were as helpful as possible for the situation! Kindness is an understatement for how they treat animals here
