Cormackstown Veterinary

Cormackstown Veterinary in Maynooth is part of the MyVet group, founded by vets Liam and Nuala Moriarty, and the clinic was established in 2012. It provides routine and surgical veterinary care from a purpose-built site with a dedicated dental suite, operating theatre, isolation area, cat consult room, dog ward, and large walk-in kennels. Recent feedback remains largely very positive, with owners often highlighting gentle handling, clear explanations, and compassionate support, alongside a small number of complaints about front-desk manner and fee communication.

Services

•Routine appointments and preventive care: vaccinations, boosters, annual injections, and general check-ups are all part of the clinic’s day-to-day work.
•Consultations, tests, and ongoing care: owners mention in-clinic tests during appointments, help with pets who have more complicated health issues, and support for long-term patients over many years.
•Surgery and dental care: the clinic has an operating theatre and dedicated dental suite. Reviews specifically praise clear explanations around a dog’s surgery plan.
•Facilities for different patient needs: the site includes an isolation area, cat consult room, dog ward, and large walk-in kennels. Owners also mention a separate cat area and covers for carriers to help cats stay calmer.
•Practical help in urgent or unusual situations: reviews describe pets being squeezed in for appointments, calls being handled helpfully, and assistance with checking the tag of a lost dog. There are also mentions of enquiries about injured stray or neighbourhood cats.

Pricing

Available published prices indicate the clinic sits above average relative to similar practices. Review feedback on cost is mixed: most recent comments focus on care rather than price, but a small number of owners were unhappy about consultation and testing charges not being clearly explained in advance, including one reported €85 consultation fee linked to a booster-related visit.

•John is the most frequently mentioned vet in client feedback, with owners describing him as attentive, thorough, and good at explaining treatment and surgery. Some also say he helps nervous dogs feel less stressed during appointments.

•Lauren, Jodie, and Grainne at reception are singled out for being especially helpful and compassionate.

My vet Maynooth are excellent. From the girls on reception,.nurses and vets. They are so gentle and caring with my little minature yorkie Ella, which is so important to me as Ella is always so nervous at her vet appointments. Would highly recommend. Thanks to all at my vet Maynooth for the wonderful care for my fur baby.

Sadly on March 26th we had to bid farewell to our beloved Cocker Spaniel of thirteen and a half years. As you can imagine it was devastating. The staff in My Vet were absolutely amazing. I would like to thank them most sincerely for their care of Rosie over the years and in particular the team that took care of us that evening. Lauren, Jodie and Grainne at reception couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you ladies. A sincere thank you to our Vet Lisa and the two nurses on duty that evening ( apologies I can’t recall your names)who made Rosie, my daughter and I feel so comfortable and reassured. You were fabulous. Thanks also to Vet Imelda who looked after us so well the previous day for her sound advice and professionalism. Finally, many thanks to John and Eimear who have also given wonderful care to Rosie over her lifetime. We are also very grateful for your card and the Rosie Memorabilia you sent to us. How kind and thoughtful ! Every good wish and appreciation to you all. The Clearys.

Best Vets in the business. Helpful friendly and readily available. Welcomed from the minute you enter the premises

More than 10 years in this clinic with my cats. All employees are experienced and very friendly with animals. Always clean and comfortable. Separately, I want to mention a separate corner for customers with cats, there are also bedspreads to cover the carrier and the cat is less stressed. Generally solid 5 stars

I called about an injured neighborhood cat I've been looking after. Instead of focusing on the animal's welfare or getting him an appointment, I was met with a patronizing interrogation from the receptionist. She was more fixated on why the cat has a name and pushing "free consultations" I didn't mention or ask for, rather than just helping a responsibile, paying customer get an animal seen. Extremely off putting and unprofessional attitude to deal with on top of the stress of having an injured animal. They did get me an appointment in the end, but I ended up taking him to a proper vet elsewhere because of the attitude.
