Port Vet Clinic offers routine care alongside in-house diagnostics (X‑rays, ultrasound, blood testing) and surgical work including neutering and orthopaedic surgery, with a 24‑hour emergency call service stated on its website. Recent reviews give concrete examples of the clinic handling difficult situations: support with euthanasia for a very unwell stray cat, a week-long hospital stay with IV fluids (“on a drip”) for a critically sick dog, and help with trapping and neutering a feral tomcat (a trap loan scheme is mentioned as having existed previously, but the reviewer notes it may no longer be available). Ownership/group affiliation isn’t stated in the information provided.

I want to share 3 experiences we had with Portvet, and this "name and...appreciate" review from us is long overdue! Today is the day: 1) A year ago today, one of the strays we helped outside - we used to call him Gandalf, the Grey - had a steep decline in health, and I have no words to thank the vet, Louise and Lauren for their loving assistance to get him through the rainbow bridge. We loved that poor little soul, now remembered as Gandalf, the White (if you are familiar with The Lord of The Rings you'll get the reason why) and we have only apreciation words for you guys, thank you very, very much🙏. 2) About 2 years ago, Portvet was able to help us trap and neuter a feral tomcat in our garden, because they used to have a LSPCA trap there, that one could borrow with a security deposit. I heard that unfortunately, that's not possible anymore though, but that's how Winston, an ex-feral in our neighborhood was saved, and became an indoor only cat (go figure). He became the most affectionate boy we've ever met. Louise was a wonderful, wonderful help, and the team neutered that boy, which we ended up adopting this year. Winston owes his life to this team and to that LSPCA trap. Who would have thought such a feral cat would become so sociable? One never knows...the plan was TNR in order to keep the neighborhood cats population under control, but it turned out to be such a huge change for the better, thanks to this team. 3) A few months ago, when our regular vet could not help with another abandoned pet that was having trouble to adjust to an indoor only life, (we were trying to keep him safe, after being threatened by neighbours) PortVet supported us through his adjustement period and I will always, always be grateful for that too. These are the reasons why I fondly support this team (even if it changes). They have been supporting us everytime we needed them. We now divide our pets health care between 2 vets in town, because both are deserving of our support, but PortVet has had the ability to be there in the most difficult "pickles" and supported us when no one else could.

I had such a wonderful experience at this vet. The vet was incredibly kind and caring towards my cat, and I truly felt she received excellent care. The receptionist was also so welcoming and helpful, which made the whole visit even better. Overall, it was a really positive experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone

We had a very sick dog, they kept her on a drip and did everything they could to bring her around and after a week, my little girl came back to us eating and in good health. I would recomend them to anyone they never gave up on her even when things didnt look to good.

Such an amazing group of folks! The vets are compassionate and extremely friendly, their love of animals shines through! Their support staff are knowledgeable and phenomenal! We went to another vet who dismissed a number of ailments our cat had when we adopted him, but we knew something was wrong. That's how we found Port Vet; and they were able to diagnose and help out our Stache von Twinkletoes.
